Design Process

To understand the experiences through the eyes of the user, I continued with a human-centered approach and iterative design process. The process includes targeting a problem space, empathizing with user needs and experiences, then digitizing a solution through user testing and implementation. The outcome ends with implementing changes from the user testing then designing a finalized hi-fidelity solution.

Methodology

Methodology

3 participants were interviewed to begin the primary research process.
Participants ranged from 30-55 years old and with skin conditions: eczema, acne, and psoriasis.

By conducting interviews, we are able to reach a deeper understanding of the issues and journey people with skin conditions face in their every day lives. The primary research conducted will be essential in finding the recurring themes evident from their experiences and struggles.

This widens the perspective during research development as we are able to step into the shoes of someone who finds stress and eczema unmanageable. By creating a persona, we can clearly visualize the common struggles and experiences evident from our initial interviews and research.

By creating a scenario for Jack for a walk-in dermatologist appointment, we are able to see some of the struggles faced during this process and find functional opportunities that will help Jack have a better overall experience when searching for support.

Based on the mapping, there is valuable opportunity to provide access to virtual appointment visits to eliminate factors such as time and travel. There is also value in providing different solutions, aside from prescription medicine, as it is evident that people find value in mental health support.
